The Missing Piece is an artistic and sculptural work involving the making of a ciba model and its thermoforming. I decided for this mask to create a shape that would refer as much as possible to something robotic, in fact its basic shape is composed of three pieces, a nut, the head of a nail, and a wheel. After making the three pieces, I wanted to emphasize this theme by adding real mechanical elements to the surface of the ciba, which were first placed on top of it and then pressed.
At the end of the composition, to bring the mask to life I went to the step of thermoforming, which allowed me to be able to get a real and usable one in rigid plastic. The steampunk-style base is made of DAS and mechanical elements.
